We’re seeking strong, adaptable communicators who can lead and inspire others to deliver exceptional customer service.

We have a Caseworker/Line Manager vacancy and are inviting candidates to apply to join our Visas, Passports, Citizenship & Resettlement Services and Asylum Group. This is for the grade of Executive Officer (EO), and the closing date for applications is 15 December 2025.

We are advertising for one position; however this campaign will be used to fill future vacancies and additional roles may become available over the next 12 months.

You’ll receive a salary of £30,000 (National) or £34,000 (Croydon, London and Harmondsworth) plus a range of employee benefits.

The Visas, Passports, Citizenship & Resettlement and Asylum Group is an important operational arm of the Home Office, responsible for delivering a wide range of public services that support the UK’s economy and cultural life. Our work spans across the administration of passports, citizenship, civil registration, and visas, as well as managing asylum applications, support and accommodation, along with resettlement and returns.

About the role

As a Caseworker/Line Manager you will be required to make decisions that will help to place our customers’ needs at the centre of what we do.

You’ll play a vital role in delivering accurate and timely decisions. You’ll gather and assess information from multiple sources, prioritise workloads to meet targets, and ensure systems are updated within agreed timeframes. The role also involves conducting interviews to Home Office standards, using stakeholder feedback to drive improvement, and demonstrating empathy and resilience when supporting vulnerable customers.

If appointed to a line management position, you’ll lead and motivate a team, manage workflow, and take responsibility for performance, attendance, and conduct in line with HR policies, ensuring your team consistently delivers high standards of service.

Training will be provided for all roles. The role you will be posted to will depend on the business need at the time of onboarding. Candidates will not be given the option to choose between roles.
